So, here we are

I’ve committed to stop keeping my different “sides” separated in different blogs and put ‘em all together. That’s a scary proposition, indeed.

In the last two days (since impulsively deciding to buy a year’s worth of hosting and start this new site), I’ve realized that there are really only 5 people in my real life who truly understand me. My parents, my husband, and my kids. Strike that– the kids are too young to understand half of it. A few of you I met on the internet know quite a bit about my personality, but since we’ve never met, I can’t count you.

So here’s Norm: A person who raises a pair of incredible children, and lives with a fabulous husband, has a paying job she can do in her jammies (thanks, modern telecommunications technology!), likes knitting and crocheting, is a lousy housekeeper, pathetic gardener,  and a painfully slow and uncommitted barefoot runner. She loves her church and Jesus too, but also enjoys dirty jokes and martinis (not dirty — twist only, please), and is generally trying to live a radical life in a middle-of-the-road way.

I am not obsessed with foil hats or bacon, but they are awfully fun.

So there you have it. I’m a renaissance gal. And I’ve spent a lot of time and energy showing only certain sides of myself to certain people, and it’s time to stop that. I’ll be 38 next week. I’m too old to compartmentalize anymore.  I am who I am, and I’m built this way. I’ll try to love you all for who you are, where you are, and I ask that you do the same.

About Norm

I am a person with too many interests, many of which do not match. While it makes for interesting in conversation, it's not terribly easy to live here inside my head.
